Its my birthday today so lets not be fascists.
A wise woman once said, "If you need a friend feed any animal." whoa.
My mother left me a birthday card next to the coffee pot. "It's Your Birthday! You're now officially old enough that your birthday cake is a national fire hazard!"
Feel free to share your favorite so not funny old folks birthday humor with me, I am officially down for making fun of my age.
Breaking news! I am a new car owner! A 2025 black sparkly Lezbaru! You heard it first here.
I get to see @the_cortege tonight! I'll be on the grass dancing with the robot dogs. I've got an extra ticket but I don't want any droopy drawers ruining all the fun.
Lets see what other charming things I can say on this spectacular day....
Ohh...
Stay tuned for my cool @_rockrollrepeat_ collab tee shirt. If I see me on your t-shirt I will do the tootsie roll because its so darn epic I could burst!
Now get out of here!

Look at me, I'm beaming! Saturday night at Copro Gallery in Santa Monica was one of those rare accidents that I feel was meant to happen. Dave and I ended up showing art in the same Heavy Metal Magazine relaunch completely by coincidence. We hadn’t seen each other in 30 years. No reunion planned, but that’s exactly what happened.
Just days earlier, on Wednesday at Dayle Gloria’s 70th birthday at The Rainbow Bar and Grill, I’d had another surprise. I walked in with Karyn Cantor, "thee Karyn Cantor", and the first thing I heard was, “Stephen’s here, sitting right over there.” Stephen was the last person I expected to see. We got caught up, I met his talented son, Eden, and invited them both to the opening.
The gallery show wasn’t just ours, but it became the perfect backdrop for a reunion. I’d already reconnected with the band online in 2024 before the UK leg of the Jane’s tour and later met up with Eric between tours, but I hadn’t seen Dave or Stephen in person yet. They saw me as I am today, knowing the pain I’d carried, and greeted me with respect and compassion, strong men who simply wrapped me in the arms of love. I was healed enough to receive it with joy. But see, we understand each other. And you can see it on my face! xoxoxo
When I watched the new Jeff Buckley documentary, It’s Never Over, I started crying at the very first note of Grace. That’s usually what I do when faced with so much raw emotion. But this time I felt free, I felt powerful.

I’m making a film, thanks to FOFIF x NEON.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about timing. About how we spend years circling the thing we’re meant to do, until one day, there’s no more room for hesitation. So this is me. I’m trying not to overthink it. Just show up, do the work, and see what happens.
It’s a 6-minute experimental documentary called "Alice in the Garden". It’s about my life, art, motherhood, survival, reinvention. Los Angeles is in it, too, in all its beauty and madness.
There’s poetry, memory, visual art, and a score I’m really excited about. That’s all I’ll say for now.
Thank you so very much, @caryncoleman @neonrated and to my producer @lanettephillips! And to the other recipients, I’m looking forward to your work. xo 📸: @thecuffarophoto
Headed to Pensacola, Florida for the month of July.
I’ll be the artist-in-residence at the @309punkproject secret hideaway.
No plan. No roadmap. No fear.
Just a need to make something real. Impactful.
To disappear into the process and see what happens.
Closest thing to a vacation I’ve had in years.
White sand. Emerald water. Sea otter naps.
Time to breathe, swim, and glue my fingers together.
Love brought me here.
And as long as I am free, you are free. xoxo 📸: @angelalalvarado
I'm going to skip to the chase.
This isn’t me on this H&M tshirt.
It’s Xiola—Perry’s ex-girlfriend before we started dating.
She died of a drug overdose at 19.
She was everything: perfect beauty, talent, brains, style, personality, electricity.
I only met her a few times, but we were friends.
We stayed in touch between LA/NY, sending each other handmade art, poetry, candy, photos. Soul-to-soul mail.
That photo on the t-shirt used to sit on a shelf in our bedroom, surrounded by tiny dried flowers.
She was never forgotten.
Xi and I looked a lot alike, but I could never be her.
And she could never be me.
We loved and respected each other as friends.
I was older, more “age appropriate,” so naturally, I got the guy.
I talk about this a lot only because it keeps happening.
My art, my image—they were never mine in Perry’s eyes.
They were his to use, destroy, or sell.
There have been multiple merchandise runs with my artwork, my likeness—H&M is just the latest.
This time, it’s not my image. But it fooled even the most devoted Jane’s fans.
Dozens of messages. Friends texting me photos from stores:
“Is this you?”
“Did you know about this?”
“Are you being compensated?”
To me, it’s another emotional violation.
Another sly way to exploit my creative ghost.
To suggest it’s me, knowing fans will just assume.
I admit I might be sensitive about this subject.
But that said, I’m happy for Xi.
She is a STAR.
This photo was on the inner sleeve of Ritual; her likeness is on the cover, and it makes me happy to see her image so loved and adored. she would be thrilled.
I bought one when they first came out.
So if you own one, you are luckier than you could ever imagine. 💙
Greetings, Mothers! 👵🏻
I made some collectible postcards 💌for Gift—a flashback ⚡️to 1993, when we were landline 📞 junkies 💉and the internet hadn’t eaten our brains 🧠yet.
This limited set features raw🥩, dreamlike stills from the cult-classic film by Casey Niccoli 🦊and Perry Farrell💀. Each card is stamped with a quote that’ll either crack 🥚your heart ♥️open with nostalgia or make you laugh 😂until you pee your pants👖. (Diapers help) Hell Yeah! 🥴
Just 50 postcard sets exist (2 sets, 5 cards each). That’s 50! 🚒
I made them to commemorate the MoMA screening of Gift, which happened at the end of March and they are now available for sale on my website. I will add a link in my bio.
Dinner is served! Homemade lasagna compliments of chef Sonny. My boy!! xoxo
Our Lady of Flowers, Ambrosia Starlight. 🌼

LA Love Notes, 2025
Archival pigment print on Somerset satin
22 x 28 in
Signed, titled, and numbered by the artist
Edition of 100
Casey Niccoli’s LA Love Notes is a print edition featuring 42 of the 70 mini collages she created in response to the recent Los Angeles fires, with proceeds supporting animals affected by the devastation. The collages showcase Niccoli’s signature aesthetic, a style that became synonymous with Jane’s Addiction and the broader ’90s Los Angeles scene—an influence that endures today. This print serves as her love letter to the city that shaped her creative vision and inspired her to push artistic boundaries. It is being released ahead of her MoMA screening of Gift (1993).
LA Love Notes is being published by @farringtonpress, an off-grid print shop located at the base of the Farrington Observatory located somewhere in the mountains outside Joshua Tree, CA. ♥️Available on my website at caseyniccoli.com♥️

Scene from Gift, featuring Ants, a gorgeous track by John Frusciante. The great news? MoMA created a Pro-Res digital file for the screening, so the quality will be much better—though it still carries that cool 90s VHS charm. Catch it on March 27th at MoMA in New York, presented by @futureoffilmisfemale, for their GIRLS TO THE FRONT: NINETIES AND NOW series. XOXO
